The famous detective, Sherlock Holmes, is retired and living in Sussex with his housekeeper, Mrs. Munro. He has a quiet life of beekeeping and journal writing, but he is haunted by a 50-year old case that had never been solved and was the reason for his retirement. With the help of Mrs. Munro's young son, Roger, Holmes is determined to resolve the mystery – set it down in writing as it actually happened and not as Watson had reported it - despite his struggles with a failing memory.
