Jacob's grandfather has often talked of his mysterious adventures. In particular, he often discussed the strange kids who were part of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. His grandfather leaves clues for Jacob to follow, which bring him to a mysterious island. He finds out that his grandfather wasn't telling tales. The children do exist. As Jacob gets to know the children, he finds out that they might have special powers. To help him, Jacob must tap into his own powers, ones he didn't know he had, to save them.
