An American couple falls in love with India and decides to settle down and start a life there. They eventually have two children, and it seems as though they have the perfect lives. However, their entire existence is shattered when a tragedy occurs and their young son Oliver dies as a result. The mother's life is in tatters as she mourns her son, and her only comfort comes when a local woman tells her that there is a ritual that will allow her to talk to her son one last time. But when she does the only thing that's been forbidden, suddenly the delicate balance between life and death is destroyed.
